Guided Learning Project: Virtual Overseas Community Project (OCP) (Vietnam) & Excel mini Project
Learning Log

Plan:
-
Assigned workload for the completion of the Excel guidebook with groupmates
-
Created a schedule to complete the Excel guidebook. A short meeting is conducted weekly to check on each other's progress.
-
Planned with groupmates to assign workload to conduct the breakout room activities with the Vietnamese students before each session.
-
Planned a schedule with a timeline to ensure that part of the project is completed before a specific deadline. (e.g Learning Contract, Excel mini project, E-Portfolio, preparation for interview).
Reflection:
I reflected on how my personal schedule could have been planned out better so that I would be able to have more time to focus more on the completion of the guided learning project at a reasonable pace without clashing against my own personal commitments such as part-time jobs and outing with my friends and family.

Perform:
-
Conducting research on the Excel chapters needed to complete the guidebook and using the information I found online to create the Excel guidebook.
-
Conducting breakout room activities with the Vietnamese students during the OCP. Delivering the lesson on the 7th dimension of culture to all of the participants of the OCP. (Past-Present-Future, Sequential-Synchronic)
-
Started to work on other components of the guided learning project (Learning contract, Refined Learning Project Proposal, E-Portfolio)
Reflection:
I reflected on how I could have improved on my delivery of the lesson on the 7th dimension of culture. More specifically in areas such as being a more engaging facilitator and being more initiative when the participants are not responsive. I also reflected on how I should be more confident in myself during the presentation.

Monitor:
-
Monitored my own progress to ensure completion of the Excel guidebook before the due date.
-
Constantly monitor my own progress closely to the timeline I created in the Plan stage to ensure that I am on task.
-
I began working on a draft of my e-portfolio to ensure that I have sufficient time to complete it before the deadline.
-
When I face a problem that I am unsure how to overcome, I seek help from my peers and only approach my Learning Facilitator for help when I am unable to overcome the problem after seeking help from my peers.
Reflection:
I reflected on how I could have improved my timeline to be more realistic and cater to my school schedule as I have signed up for additional programmes as a volunteer. For example, reducing the workload on weeks that I have multiple programmes and increasing it during flex week and term break to catch up on my work.

Reflect:
-
I had seek feedbacks from seniors who had taken up similar projects before and discussed with them on what can be improved in my project.
-
Reflected on how the overall guided learning project has helped me to cultivate the TP Student Profile attribute I chose.
-
Reflected on the OCP and how it is relevant and beneficial to me in the future when I apply for my internship and job.
Reflection:
I reflected on the constructive feedback that was provided to me from my seniors who had taken up guided learning in the past and improved certain areas of my work. I also reflected on how these criticism can be applied to my other projects to improve the overall quality of my work.
